Chennai , The capital of Tamilnadu houses one of the oldest established engineering colleges of India, The college of Engineering Guindy- 1964 and has premier educational institutions in all technical and financial fields. Madras University benchmarked educational standards much before many major universities even came into existence in India. The city is home to a large student population with educated parents not to be found in any part of the world . The whole state houses a large number of colleges and schools offering technical, arts and literature courses that are among the best managed institutions in the country. The famed Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) situated in a sprawling verdant campus in Guindy, generates more than 200 Crores in Indian rupees as Industrial reesearch revenues and some of the best brains are produced for the World to become a Better place to live .

The State Houses one of the Biggest Library in the name of Anna centenial library and houses books of a Rare collection on the lines of many big universities in USA. Ms Hillary clinton, recently visited the library and appreciated its depth of organising such a resource in the State.
The Connemara Public Library, built in 1890 is one of the four national depositor centres in India for all published material, and has been declared a UNESCO information centre. Kodambakkam, in the heart of Chennai is the home of the stars.

Stretching over 60 km of coastline, Chennai’s beaches are among the longest in the country. The city’s tourism industry is growing fast, with new spas, restaurants and resorts popping up along the East Coast Road. The East Coast Road (ECR) is a ‘state-of-the-art’ highway that cruises along to the old town of Mahabalipuram and to Chennai’s favourite neighbour, Puducherry. Two more highways, the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) and the Grand Southern Trunk Road (GST) have been developed along the lines of the ECR.
The two recent jewels in Chennai’s crown are the exchange flyovers at Kathipara and Padi, making the City’s arterial and feeder roads among the most free-flowing and least congested in the country.

The DOEACC Centre at Chennai is being developed as an advanced training and development centre housing state of the art facilities with special emphasis technologies of IECT viz. VLSI Design , Embedded System, networkin, Information Security, and IT Applications such as e-learning / multimedia animation). This would help the students who are passing out from Engineering Colleges and Science Colleges by providing value addition to their basic qualification for immediate employability. Professionals and teaching faculties can upgrade their knowledge in the emerging areas of IECT. Also the centre would undertake services and development in the field of Information, Electronics and Communications Technology (IECT)
